      所以說每年在辦美術館的過程中，虧錢是正常的，只是說在這個過程中你怎麼精打細算讓它少虧錢，或者是做到不虧的更多。例如今年的預算是虧多少錢，明年能不能做到在這個基礎上不增長了。劉益謙表示，龍美術館現在每年要虧幾千萬塊錢，但是很值。

在劉益謙看來，現在國內的收藏還處於一個低級的階段，更多的人是到古玩城裏逛，古玩城的名字只是一個噱頭，裡面已經很少有古董了。“你是絕對不可能在古玩城裏看到我的，”劉益謙說道，“現在很多人逛潘家園等古玩城，而在這些地方買到古董是一個非常小概率的事情。所以從這樣一個角度來說的話，也體現出我們現時整個一個社會的收藏水準。收藏的人越來越多，但這些越來越多並不是說他對這一件藝術品的歷史、文化有所瞭解，可能只是好奇而已。”
